We loved this entire series - all the books were really good. I read them to my 8 year old each night; she would beg me to read more then one chapter and I admit there were times I wanted to keep reading after she went to bed! Really well written - I love how Shelly Bach developed her characters, added twists to the plot and kept us on our toes guessing as to what would come next. I highly recommend this series!

Excellent! Very happy!
This book series has made my life feel mor in a sense, I always felt a connection with Rory, and now I feel closer than ever with her, Shelby Bach deserves to have an award or something, she has an amazing talent for writing I could only dream of. I now wait for my own destiny to be for filled.
Fun, exciting, I just couldn't put it down.
The suspense. I bought this book a few days ago and devoured it. The SQ sent out the Pied Pipper to kidnap the kids in Hawthorne, Oregon. Phillip, Mirriam' s brother, was among the thousand missing. Merriam, Rory, Lena, and Chase go on a quest to rescue them. Two dwarves, Hadrianea Forrel, join them. Mirriam finds a box of matches made by the SQ and (possibly) dies. Without the Tale Bearer, they are not as likely to succeed. But Mirriam wasn't the only Tale Bearer around...
Shelby Bach does a great job making some of the best books ever. I can relate to Rory and easily imagine myself in her place.
Bach, you are amazing!
Oh, and FYI,yeah, spoiler, but I read so much I'm a plot guesser. And I knew from the moment Rory saw Chase in 'of Giants and Ice' I was sure they'd end up as a couple. Kinda was right. If you can't guess, Rory is probably crushing on Chase or vice versa but they don't known it ;)

I love this series. My sons are 8 and 10 and we were all on the edge of our seats reading it aloud together.
My daughter who is 11 is a huge fan of this series. She hasn't been able to put the book down.
The third of the series, an excellent adventure of upper middle-grade fantasy. Told in the first person, Rory, Chase, and Lena go to the evil queen's domicile for even more excitement than the previous installments. Easy read, great for kids, no bad language accept G-d, little violence. Can't say too much else without spoilers.
